Jerry & Tammy
Sullivan The Sullivans have come to epitomize those thing which I
love most about bluegrass music. Honesty, integrity, and
respect for tradition are just some of the words which come
to mind.
On their latest album, "Tomorrow", Tammy Sullivan shows
she's got the talent to succeed, and her sense of style and
song selection should serve her well in Country, Americana
and Folk markets without dimming her appeal to her Bluegrass
fans. The production sparkles with a clean, yet three
dimensional feel, and the emotional flow is uncanny. The
music, like the lyrics, is up front and exposed. Tammy has a
keen sensitivity for a great song. Her interpretation of
each song here reveals an exceptional talent for every vocal
detail and an uncanny ability to lay her heart on the line.
"Tomorrow" is full of poignant songs which are
brilliantly delivered...The combination of the choice of
songs, instrumental fluidity and accompanying talent make
this recording ring true from start to finish. Every track
will leave its mark on you.

'Tomorrow'
(Ceili Records CEIL-CD 2006
)
With
their warm, glowing vocal harmonies and impeccably clean and
uncluttered picking, the father-daughter bluegrass gospel
duo of Jerry and Tammy Sullivan bring to mind that most
listenable of all bluegrass bands, the great Flatt &
Scruggs. And, like Flatt & Scruggs, the Sullivans are
wide-ranging in their song selection. Above all these
qualities, however, is the fidelity with which the group
conjures up memories of a sweet rural world now long
vanished. Many of the twelve songs featured here were
written or co-written with Jerry by long time friend and
producer, Marty Stuart.
Known
for precise and intricate musicianship and soulful vocals,
Jerry and Tammy Sullivan over the years have caught the ears
of critics and fans alike, earning solid radio play, and a
grammy nomination. Tammy knows how to trust a song and let
her feelings flow into her voice without pretending or
manipulating her audience.
