Gandalf
Sacred River

(Real Music B000E40PZW)

gandalfAs you listen to Gandalf’s music, you know exactly why this "painter of musical landscapes" chose his name, years before J.R.R. Tolkien’s cult-epic Lord of the Rings captivated filmgoers around the world. Austrian by birth, Gandalf has traveled widely through Europe, North and South American and Asia. The more cultures he has come in touch with, the more he has been touched by the realization that far more things unite than separate the various peoples on our planet. His goal in composing and recording is to create music that dissolves boundaries.

Inspired by Siddhartha, who learns from the wise old ferryman to listen carefully to the voices of the river until he hears the eternal song of oneness and harmony. Gandalf invites you to imagine yourself in a boat on the Sacred River, letting the music be your ferryman, taking you gently across the water.

Gandalf intricately weaves the sounds of acoustic, classical, and electric guitars with keyboard, percussion and piano for his enchanting sonic tale.

"Flowing water has inspired me since I was a child, when my favorite playground was at a small creek behind my parents' house. The sound of the rippling water stimulated my fantasy and made my mind go wandering to imaginary places. Years ago one of my journeys led me to one of India's holy rivers, the Yamuna, an experience that had deep impact on my life ever after. People would come from near and far to bathe in the sacred water to get washed from their sins and release from the wheel of reincarnation. Night and day the air is filled with the chanting of holy mantras, a scenery of humility, love and joy." ~Gandalf
